Jurgis
Over 100 years ago, my Great Grandfather fled Poland to escape conscription into the Russian army, leaving everything and everyone he knew behind. Forced to conform to British customs, his identity was stripped from him and his heritage has been lost ever since.
Jurgis died in the first half of the 20th century and with him, his identity… until now.
This collection is a window into the life of Jurgis and our ancestors, taking traditional Polish garments and materials to bring my lost ancestry into the 21st century. Lelz’s debut collection is a celebration of not only Polish heritage, but Slavic heritage alike.
